Are you an improviser who is also a musical theater kid at heart? Do you ever want to break out into song while in a scene? With this “Musical Improv Foundations” class, you can gain the confidence and skills to do so!

Join Instructor Joel Camargo of Measure Island Improv and Justin Geer from Dad’s Garage for their “Musical Improv Foundations” class. The 8-week class will ease you into understanding basic song structure and how to confidently make up a song on the spot. You’ll be jamming in no time!

Course Goals:

  • Getting comfortable and confident with the music and rhythm

  • Becoming  comfortable with your singing voice

  • Removing judgment from how you sound and from others

  • Feeling confident in starting a song within a scene

  • Recognize a basic song structure

  • Finding a simple, repeatable chorus

  • Finding a strong, obvious finish to songs

  • Sharing a song with a scene mate

  • Releasing fear and embracing FUN in musical improv

Prerequisite: Previous improv experience required. At least two levels of improv recommended.
Ages: 18+
Duration: Eight weeks, 3 hours per week.
